Play Areas

The Parish Council is responsible for the management and maintenance of six play areas in the Parish.

Each site undergoes a weekly visual inspection, while a comprehensive annual review is conducted by independent inspectors registered and certified by the RPII.

To maintain a safe environment, all play areas are gated to prevent dog access. However, assistance dogs are allowed, provided they remain under control.

The play equipment is designed to be suitable for children up to the age of 14.

We are now expanding our offer at some sites to include facilities for older teens, adults and older adults. This expansion is part of our 10 year play area plan, which aims to make our spaces more community-orientated by providing inclusive and engaging opportunities for all age groups. By incorporating equipment for a wider range of users, we are aiming towards strengthening community connections and enhancing the usability of our play areas.

We take a structured approach to updating and improving our play areas through a 10 year play area plan.  This ensures that our equipment and facilities evolve to meet the diverse needs of our local community. We are committed to evaluating our entire play offer to ensure a broad range of play opportunities across the Parish, avoiding repetition and fostering unique experiences at each location. Our goal is to create safe, engaging, and inclusive play spaces for children of all ages, as well as providing facilities that cater to a broader range of activities and users.
