Greenwood Park Play Area
The children’s play area is located at the front of Greenwood Park, adjacent to Tippendell Lane. There is car parking either side of the main drive, close to the play area, but if this is full there is also a large car park to the rear of the Community Centre. The fenced play area can be accessed by either of two kissing gates, from the main park. The larger of the two gates is big enough to allow access by wheelchair or buggy.
As part of our five year plan for the play area a new range of equipment was installed over the summer of 2016 which provides exciting and dynamic challenges to a wider range of children up to the age of 14 with capacity for many more children than previously.
This year, 2019, a new range of play equipment for children under 6 years old has been installed on a play sand base
- Two sets of swings, including one inclusive seat suitable for use by children with disabilities
- Toddler multi-play activity centre with climbing frame, slide and fireman’s pole
- Spring rockers
- Double springer horse
- Junior spica
- Sand activity centre
- Toddler imagination play unit
- Toddler multiplay
- Double-width embankment slide
An area of open field, suitable for a variety of games and activities, with 5-a-side goals, is also provided within the fenced area, along with benches and picnic table. In addition a shade sail has been installed to provide a shaded area during the summer months
*Dogs are not permitted in the fenced play area.
Whilst we do permit responsible dog owners to use Greenwood Park, please remember that it is a public recreation and sports area and accordingly dogs must be kept under control at all times. Ample bins are provided for the responsible disposal of dog waste.
The Park also has public tennis courts, a cycle path, football and cricket pitches, woodland walks, wildflower meadows and a wide variety of sports and social activities at the Community Centre details of which can be found in the ‘Facilities’ section of this website.
The Community Centre also offers a variety of rooms for hire for functions or regular activities, details of which can be found on the Venue Hire section of this website.
*Assistance dogs are permitted in the play areas, but must be kept under control at all times.
