St Albans City and District Council Community Governance Review

St Albans City and District Council is undertaking a Community Governance Review (CGR) to look at the current arrangements for parish and town councils across the district.

A Community Governance Review is a legal process that enables district and borough councils to consider whether changes are needed to boundaries, governance or structure of parish and town councils.

Under Government plans, St Albans City and District Council (along with all District Councils in Hertfordshire and the County Council) will be abolished in 2028 and replaced by unitary local government structures. Before these changes take place, the Council is carrying out this review to determine whether any changes should be made to parish and town council arrangements.
