Annual Parish Meeting 2025
Thank you to everyone who joined us last Thursday for the St Stephen Parish Council Annual Parish Meeting at the Parish Centre in Bricket Wood.
The meeting focused on the work the Parish Council has done in the past year and was also an opportunity to recognise and thank members of our community whose hard work and commitment have benefitted us all. click here to read all about Parish events and impact.
We asked residents to nominate individuals or groups they felt deserved recognition for their commitment to making our Parish a better place. The Council was delighted to present the following Community Awards:
Business Award- Kraft Stationery
Group Award- Keep Chiswell Green
Individual Award-Jenny Wilson
Youth Award- Seth Haik
Lifetime Achievement Award-Laurie Hart
Parish in Bloom-The Council was pleased to announce the winners of the Parish in Bloom awards. Although the recipients were not present at the meeting, their efforts were warmly recognised and appreciated.
The Council also thanked Mr R Howard, for his outstanding commitment, dedication and hard work as he steps down from his long standing volunteer role in maintaining the flower beds on Oakwood Road and Ashridge Drive.
The evening concluded the lighting of a beacon to commemorate VE Day. A special thank you to 1st Park Street Scouts for joining us and helping to mark this meaningful moment.
We thank all who attended and helped make the evening so special.
Notice of Councillor Vacancy
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a casual vacancy has arisen in the Office of Parish Councillor in the Park Street ward of the Parish of St Stephen.
If by 24 April 2025(14 days* after the date of this notice), a request for an election to fill the said vacancy is made in writing to:
The Proper Officer, St Albans City and District Council, Civic Centre, St Peters Street, St Albans AL1 3JE, signed by ten electors for Park Street parish ward,an election will be held to fill the said vacancy.
If an election is not requested, the vacancy will be filled by St Stephen Parish Council by co-option in accordance with the Local Elections (Parishes and Communities) Rules 2006.
If an election is requested, the election will take place on a date determined by the Returning Officer within 60 days from the date of this notice.
